TNS leaves event organiser high and dry

KZN-BASED artist Nkazimulo “TNS” Ngema left an event organiser high and dry.

This after he failed to pitch at a gig.

TNS was booked at Nkandla Bar and Lounge in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape.

He was paid, but never arrived.

The event was last year on Friday, 2 December.

In a text message, TNS wrote: “My brother don’t compromise your event because I will not come if you don’t pay a full amount.”

Event organiser Lonwabo Nonkonyana said: “We booked TNS for our event called Toast to Summer last year in December.

“The purpose of this event was to welcome the first week of December. TNS was our main act for the night. He charged us R10 500. He also asked that we buy him and his crew alcohol. In addition to this we booked him accommodation.”

Daily Sun has seen a video clip where TNS advertised and invited people to come and attend.

“Please come at Nkandla Bar and Lounge because I will be there,” he said in the clip.

But TNS never arrived.

According to Lonwabo, on the day of the event, TNS was no longer taking calls or responding to text messages.

“Eventually, we gave up and refunded people their money. We lost about R40 000 because of TNS. This money was from the gate and we had to pay it back to the people,” he said.

He said he tried to get his refund, but TNS insulted him.

Daily Sun approached TNS and he said: “I didn’t attend their event because they failed to fulfil our agreement. I told them that I need more than one event in the Eastern Cape, otherwise it’d be a loss for me. I can also confirm that they paid R10 500, but it would’ve been a loss to travel from KZN to Eastern Cape for that amount,” said TNS.

“I also suggested that they do another event and add a few gigs, then I can come. If they cannot do that, I’m more than willing to refund them,” he said.
