The World Grieves The Passing Of Zahara

Renowned and multi-award-winning vocalist, Bulelwa Mkutukana, popularly known as Zahara, has reportedly passed away, sending shockwaves through the world.

The beloved artist had been hospitalized for nearly two weeks due to liver complications.

Tributes are pouring in for the talented singer, particularly on various social media platforms. South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Zizi Kodwa, seemingly confirmed the heartbreaking news by sharing a tribute on his timeline.

“I am very saddened by the passing of @ZaharaSA. My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry. Government has been with the family for some time now. Zahara and her guitar made an incredible and lasting impact in South African music”, he posted.

He expressed deep condolences to the Mkutukana family and the entire South African music industry. Kodwa acknowledged.

While an official statement from the family is awaited, sources reported to Zimoja that the 36-year-old artist passed away due to liver complications, marking the end of a vibrant musical career. Zimbabweans joined in offering tributes to the late songstress.

Award-winning journalist Terrance Mapurisana shared his memories on Facebook, saying, “Rest in peace Zahara… it seemed like yesterday when I met you, the sensational songbird, in Zim. Thanks for the album Loliwe and the duet with Zbc Classic263 Radio Legendary Presenter George Munetsi titled Incwadencane.”

Zimbabwean socialite Tarisai Cleopatra Munetsiwa, known as Madam Boss, also paid her respects on social media, saying, “The legend, Zvinorwadza izvi, Gone too soon ZAHARA.”

Director at Amplifaya Festival, Plot Mhako, reminisced about Zahara’s impact on his life, especially when her Loliwe album dominated playlists in 2011. He expressed his admiration for her talent and likable personality, bidding farewell to the superstar with a heartfelt “Rest in peace.”
