Thabo Bester – The Great Escape Exposed!

The Department of Correctional Services says Bester escaped from custody in May last year.

The department says there will be serious consequences for those found to have been involved in his escape.

In the latest bombshell revelations, Thabo Bester, also known as the “Facebook Rapist,” makes the Tinder Swindler look like an amateur.

The convicted rapist and murderer – who police have confirmed is alive and on the loose – has continued to shock South Africans with his past and present criminal activity.

Now reports of his multiple aliases are emerging, and how he duped the public into believing he was a hotshot billionaire heartthrob.

Thabo Bester reportedly faked his death and escaped prison in May 2022 from the Magaung Correctional Centre in Bloemfontein.

In the latest investigations by GroundUp, it has been reported that Thabo Bester once allegedly ran a multi-million rand scam while in prison.

Bester was found guilty raping two women in hotel rooms in 2011 after luring them on social media under the guise of being a model scout. A year later, he was also convicted of raping and murdering his girlfriend, Nomfundo Tyhulu.

The publication reports that Bester – under an alleged accomplice – registered an event and production company called 21st Century Media in 2018. This, while he was imprisoned in Magaung Correctional Centre.

The company held a grand launch party at Hilton Hotel in Sandton, attended by celebs like Amanda du Pont and Yvonne Chaka Chaka. Through the organisation, Bester organised a conference in September 2018 called the Women In Media, advertising guest speakers like Halle Berry, Taraji P Henson, and Connie Ferguson. He even duped Bonang Matheba into agreeing to be the MC at the glamorous event.

But the conference was cancelled after the public was alerted that it was an elaborate scam.

Bester -allegedly using the alias Tom Matsepe – told the public that he was based in New York and that he was related to SA billionaire Patrice Motsepe. He also had a Twitter account under his alias – which is still active – in which he would advertise his services.
