Ntobeko Sishi Exits Gomora To Pursue His Music Dream

Multi-hyphenated talent, Ntobeko Sishi closes his acting chapter on Gomora this week bidding farewell to the beloved character Ntokozo as he goes all-in with his music career; dropping his highly anticipated new single “I Don’t Dance” this Friday, 14 April 2023.

Sishii’s exit from Gomora comes off the back of signing a record deal with Mr. Eazi’s emPawa Africa after deciding to pursue his music career full-time.

“I’m very grateful for the character of Ntokozo. Through Ntokozo I was able to engage in the journey of finding a home, finding a place to belong, and navigating the trepidation of an unpredictable world,” shares Sishii.

He adds: “I’m excited about a new journey and giving my all to a different side of myself that I can’t wait to nurture more and share with the world.”

During the Level 5 Covid Lockdown, viewership of Gomora boomed and Sishii became a national talking point. He continued to grow as an actor, hone his craft, and push himself to deliver more honest performances.

A journey that started from following his heart after receiving a call to audition for the role of Ntokozo on Mzansi Magic’s Gomora whilst a presenter on Hectic Nine 9, which led Sishii to pause his plans of studying his Masters in Music Business at NYU (New York University), Sishii has yet again yielded to the call of his heart to follow his love of music.

Make sure to connect with Sishii online and be the first to hear his new single, “I Don’t Dance”, out this Friday via emPawa Africa.

Gomora has been canned after four seasons. In a press statement released this week, Mzansi Magic bid farewell to the show.

“We are committed to bringing the best content to our viewers and, as such, we have to be responsive to their changing needs and preferences. This means that we have to bid farewell to beloved shows like Gomora, but we are excited to bring you new, fresh, and exciting content,” said Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

“It’s been an incredible three years since Gomora first aired on Mzansi Magic,” added Adonisi. “The show has captivated audiences across the country and we are proud to be part of its legacy. We thank the cast and crew of Gomora for their incredible work and dedication.”
