ACTIVIST and veteran poet, Mzwakhe Mbuli, is apparently in hospital fighting for his life.
Several close sources told Daily Sun that he is in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at an undisclosed Joburg hospital.
At this point details are sketchy. It is not clear which hospital he is in or what he’s suffering from.
Those who are close to him and had visited him told Daily Sun that he is allegedly supported by the machines as he cannot breathe properly.
“The news is kept away from the media and the public eye. He is trying hard to protect his privacy and also, he doesn’t want to alarm people. He has been in the hospital for over a week now. In fact, he spent Easter weekend in hospital.
“Most people didn’t notice because he is trying to be strong, as a result he has been active on social media platforms. He is still jovial and has been chatting and phoning his close friends as usual. Close friends within the industry and his family are aware and have been keeping a close eye on him,” said a source.
