Marc Lottering Honored as 2024 Comics’ Choice Hall of Fame Award Winner
The comedy world erupted in excitement as the much-awaited Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards unveiled its nominees and recipient of the prestigious Hall of Fame Award.
The anticipation reached its peak as the annual awards ceremony returned, with the nominees announced at a ceremony held on Wednesday, 28 February 2024, at the Radisson Red Hotel in Rosebank.

In a momentous announcement, Marc Lottering, the trailblazer of South African comedy, was revealed as the esteemed recipient of the Savanna Comics’ Choice Hall of Fame Award. His unparalleled legacy and invaluable contributions to the industry will be celebrated during the Awards ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 13 April, at the Lyric Theatre in Joburg, with the illustrious Mpho ‘Popps’ Modikoane as the host.
Manuela Dias de Deus, the awards producer, expressed their commitment to spotlighting the nation’s top stand-up comedians and showcasing the vibrant comedy industry.
“Our goal is to honour the finest stand-up comedians in the country and showcase the comedy industry. By doing so, we aim to organize events open to the public, providing a platform for emerging talents to shine and secure international opportunities.”
The Comics’ Choice Comedy award also announced on their Instagram page that Marc is the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award this year. They wrote.
