Babes Wodumo dragged for a no-show at three gigs

Babes Wodumo has been called out by three event promoters and organisers after she failed to pitch at shows after being paid.

Speaking to ZiMoja, Estradini Lifestyle management said the Gqom queen received R18 000 for a show that held on the 28th of January.Babes Wodumo

“As we all know that we held an event on Saturday, 28 of January, and unfortunately only one artist showed up for the event instead of the two artists shown on the poster. We as Estradini Lifestyle apologise sincerely as it was a situation, we had no control over. Babes Wodumo did not show up for the event and when we tried contacting her, she was unreachable on the phone.”

“We kept our end of the bargain and paid her; we have attached proof of payment below. We apologise for the inconvenience. We kindly ask everyone who attended yesterday’s event to keep their tickets for our next event,” the statement reads.

The owner of Second Half Bar and Restaurant in Nquthu booked her for Saturday 28 January, and Thami Vilakazi from Ora Lifestyle in Pietermaritzburg booked her for Saturday on 21 January.
“It is very risky to book Babes Wodumo these days because she doesn’t show up and her management does not communicate with us event organisers. They are only taking money and then going awol. I’m done booking her,” Vilakazi told the publication.
