Bank goes after former Kaizer Chiefs Captain Willard Katsande’s Johanessburg million-dollar mansion
Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Willard Katsande is in hot soup as Standard Bank is set to repossess his Johannesburg mansion over unpaid housing instalments. Standard Bank guarantee company was granted a default judgement to take away Katsande’s house by the South African Gauteng High Court on the 3rd of Ferbuary 2023.
Reports have that Willard Katsande failed to pay his monthly instalment toward his million-dollar mansion in Johannesburg. A daughter company of Standard Bank vocalised in court papers that Willard was unable to make regular payments according to the terms and conditions of the loan.
The court papers read;
“This is an unopposed application of default judgement and an order declaring the immovable property of the respondent executable.”
A confirmed source revealed that Willard Katsande’s debt amounted to R200 611, and has not paid his instalments for the last eight months.
“Since the issuing of summons, the arrears and the outstanding debt have escalated. One would realise that since the issuing of summons, the arrears and the outstanding debt have not been paid,” SB Company said in court.
Speaking on the possibility of losing his R2 million luxury dream house, Katsande revealed that a technical problem on his app is the one that caused him to default on his monthly instalments.
Katsande said that he has two bonded houses that he is currently paying, and due to a technical error, he found out he was making double payments to one house all along.
“There was a technical problem with the app that led me to pay one bond twice and not pay the other. What happened is that I was paying one bond double.”
He claims that he has spoken to his lawyers, and the issue is getting sorted out.
“I made the first payment at the end of Jaunary and paid some money towards the arrears. I think everything is sorted,” Willard Katsande responted
