Sekhukhune United has ambitious plans for their talented young players, according to close sources.
Recently, 19-year-old defender Asekho Tiwani has attracted significant interest from overseas clubs. The left-back, a standout performer last season for the rising Babina Noko brand, progressed through the club’s development system under the guidance of esteemed coach and mentor Themba Sithole.
Sithole, who serves as the Head of Development and Scouting and Technical Director, has been instrumental in fast-tracking the club’s success by linking the achievements of the development teams with the first team.
In the 2023/24 season, Asekho Tiwani made 16 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals, including a remarkable long-range strike against Cape Town Spurs that was a contender for the DStv Premiership Goal of the Season.

Tiwani’s impressive work-rate and development have garnered attention both locally and internationally, with Romanian club FCSB, home to former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana, and FC Sheriff making enquiries about his availability.
Additionally, Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana is being closely watched by Tunisian giants Esperance.
A source stated, “Sekhukhune United is dedicated to the success and future of their players. While the club aims to be among the top in the league, player success is equally crucial to the management.
The club is open to allowing their best players to pursue overseas opportunities if it helps them achieve their dreams.”
