Mzansi actress Nefisa Mkhabela of House of Zwide revealed on DJ Sbu’s YouTube channel Hustlers’ Corner how, at the age of 19, she built her mother a house.
Nefisa Mkhabela, who plays Onalerona Molapo in the e.tv serial House of Zwide, also spoke about her acting career, academics, and more on the podcast.
“I bought my first car last year at the age of twenty, and I built my mother a house when I was nineteen.” As a result, my paycheck was just going there. “I said start from scratch.”
The Citizen reports that the 21-year-old actress scored her first role when she was in high school, doing grade eight after receiving a call from her agent, who informed her that Fergusons Fims wanted to cast her on one of their shows.
TVSA reports that Mkhabela made her acting debut in Ferguson Films drama series Unmarried on 2 February 2018 as Mbali and reprised her role in season two in 2020.
The actress tells DJ Sbu that she was a child, and didn’t know what was happening. She wasn’t educated about what happens on set and for her it was just about enjoying the moments she had there.
“I was just like oh, I am here to act, and I am with these legends. I think I was blessed to do that in high school because Onalerona blew up immediately after I finished high school.”
The actress Nefisa Mkhabela’s character Onalerona was raised by Isaac Molapo (Jeffrey Sekele), who actually stole her from her biological father (Funani Zwide played by Vusi Kunene).
She’s a township girl who dreams of being a fashion designer and lands an internship at House of Zwide, which is owned by her biological father who is a millionaire and talented fashion designer.
She finds out that her father (Isaac) who raised her was the hitman who killed her biological mother and worked with her biological father’s wife (Faith Zwide played by Winnie Ntshaba).
