A South African Police Service Organised Crime Unit has cordoned off the crime scene after taking over the investigation into the double murder of AKA and Tebello Tibz Motsoane. South Africans woke up to the tragic news of the double homicide which happened in Durban late on Friday night.
While the details of the crime remain sketchy, the initially report that the famous duo was killed in a drive-by shooting has since been debunked by a KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, who said AKA and Tibz were shot from close range by two suspects who fled per foot.
“It was not a drive-by shooting. AKA and Tibz were killed by two suspects who walked towards them from across the street, and shot them from close range,” Robert Netshiunda, KZN police spokesman said.
It has now also been confirmed that an organised crime unit has taken over the investigation into the deaths of AKA and Tibz, suggesting that the hits on the hip hop moguls were premeditated.
In the footage below, the members of the organised crime unit are seen cordoning off the crime scene again on Saturday morning, after it had been clear for about eight hours prior.
