Minnie Dlamini pens two-year deal with Miss World S.A

TV host and actress Minnie Dlamini recently took to her Instagram account to confirm that she’s signed a deal to host Miss World South Africa.

The Citizen reports that Miss World SA has inked a two-year deal with the producer and TV presenter Minnie Dlamini.

The publication adds that pageant owner, Carol Bouwer revealed that Dlamini is going to be exceptional as a host.

“I admire the many young women who have come to epitomise excellence in broadcasting in South Africa, and when I look at Minnie I see many of the qualities we possessed at her age as women in broadcasting! I’m also proud of the work she has done to set herself apart.”

An excited Dlamini thanked Bouwer for the opportunity and said as a pageant girl, she’s excited to join the franchise and cheer on the girls who now stand precisely where she stood many times.

Miss World SA will take place at the State Theatre in Pretoria on 28 October. The 71st edition of the Miss World 2023 pageant will be held in the Middle East, United Arab Emirates for the first time this year. Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the end of the event final.

Angelopedia reported in June this year that media personality and businesswoman Carol Bouwer has taken over the licence of the Miss World South Africa pageant.

It is reported the Miss South Africa organisation lost the Miss World licence to the former Generations actress and businesswoman.

Angelopedia added: “Carol Bouwer is a UNICEF Special Representative for Women and Children in South Africa, President and media owner of Carol Bouwer Productions.

“Her advocacy work for women and children saw her speak at the UN in 2017 and 2018 at a UN General Assembly side event with the Canadian Minister. She will definitely be the right mentor for the girls to prepare them for Miss World South Africa.”

“Miss World Chairman and CEO Julia Morley and Reigning Miss World are in South Africa for a 6-day visit to promote the pageant across the Country and Launch the New Miss World South Africa Franchise”, tweeted @nozipho_mashaba at the time.
