Life without Mampintsha: Uthando Lodumo set for a return!

Babes Wodumo‘s reality show, Uthando Lodumo, was set to return, however following the tragic passing of her late husband, Gqom superstar Mampintsha Maphumulo, also known as ‘Shimora‘, Babes will now have to take on the responsibility of the show by herself.

Reports are circulating that Uthando Lodumo, the reality show that gave viewers a glimpse into the tumultuous relationship between Gqom duo Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo, is set to return and be renamed Uthando Lodumo: Life After Mampintsha.

Although the show drew criticism for what some perceived to be its glorification of gender–based violence, its ratings were reportedly high, making it a sensible decision to renew it for a second season.

This past December, Babe tragically lost her husband, Shimora, just one day before Christmas. Now, as Valentine‘s Day approaches, Babe will have to face the holiday without her beloved Mampintsha. To commemorate this difficult occasion, Babe recently shared a heartbreaking post.

“Wow after sooo many years this is the first Valentines Day without you sthandwa Sam… Today woman out there are celebrating with loved ones, but however me being here today makes it different from others…I forever cherish days we shared together..Ngyazi ujabulile ukungbona today nginawe Sdudla Sam,Sdikselwa,Stakataka,Baba ka Sponge,” she captioned the post.

At his funeral, Babes remained composed and delivered a humorous speech. “What has me perplexed is that he left this earth without giving me his cellphone pin – ah, men!” Babes jokingly remarked.

“Now I will be just looking at as people call because I can not open it, but a man is a man, there’s no man that does not cheat, there isn’t,” she said.

Babes pleaded with her colleagues from the same profession to not forsake her as she strives to make a return.

“Thank you, Tira for loving my husband and Danger thank you. Tira please do not abandon me and you Danger,” she said.

Tira is set on keeping his promise, “Babes must go back to the top of the charts. When she joined the music industry she was charging R100,000 per gig. You [Babes] should not be comfortable [with earning less] and you need to get out of your comfort zone if you want to go back to the top. You need to work hard and have a focus. Also, we still have Sponge [Babes’ child] to raise because Mampintsha is no longer,” he said
