Master KG inspired yet another worldwide dance challenge after his first song conquered the world in 2020.
His hit track Jerusalema took the world by storm for months after its release.
Now the Limpopo-born musician, real name Kgaogelo Moagi, is trending globally with another challenge.
Social media was flooded with the latest dance craze called the #WayaWayaChallenge.
A proud Master KG took to his socials and wrote: “Here we go again, another one.”
The craze travelled to various countries, where everyone tried their hand at the dance moves. Locals from all walks of life also shared their videos.
Though the hit song was released four years ago, it found its way to the global Tik-Tok challenge yet again, making this his second global success.
Master KG met TimesLIVE Premium at his home in Midstream residential estate in Joburg’s Midrand recently.
“My music is attracting everyone. Young people, old people, health workers, churches, policemen and children. And it’s only just getting started,” he said.
“I am not even a singer. But I sang that song, and I brought it to Joburg. And the producers here said I needed to collaborate with a name on this song, because I was a nobody. Nobody knew who I was,” he said, explaining what led to the song being performed by popular kwaito singer Zanda Zakuza.
“People love my music, and they resonate with it. It doesn’t have limitations. You can play it in church, in hospitals, in police stations. It’s amazing. I have never wanted to adapt or change for anyone. My dopeness is my dopeness, and the world loves unique things. My music is the sound of the village, and it just blows my mind that it’s going big.”
As social media exploded with trending videos of the 2018 track many joined in the dance craze. Watch the videos below:
