Following the passing of Chupu Mathabatha’s wife, the wife of the Premier of Limpopo, on Wednesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa sent his sympathies.
On Wednesday, Maggie Mathabatha passed away following a brief illness. The Limpopo government has verified Mathabatha’s death.
Ramaphosa expressed his sympathies to the Mathabatha family in a statement on Thursday. “Premier Mathabatha, his family, and the government of Limpopo are in my thoughts, as well as those of the National Executive and the country, at this time of loss.
“Maggie Mathabatha is a leader who puts the needs of the community first. She is committed to ensuring that the people of Limpopo have access to housing, food security, and help for those who have impairments.
Her community participation was a valued and admirable addition to the work of the government under the direction of the Premier and the Provincial Executive.
We join the Limpopo people in their grief and in our common prayer for Maggie Mathabatha’s soul to find peace,’ Ramaphosa added.
Ndavhe Ramakuela, a spokesman for the Limpopo administration, said Mathabatha would be remembered in Limpopo for her enormous contribution to the socioeconomic advancement of underprivileged people.
The province administration released a statement that said, “Through the Limpopo First Lady Trust, Maggie managed to mobilize resources which resulted in the successful building of houses to disadvantaged families, distribution of food parcels, and wheelchairs.”
As soon as the family has decided on the specifics, we will make an announcement about the funeral preparations.
