The South African entertainment industry is ablaze with drama as singer Queen Lolly, whose real name is Nomfundo Shezi, has accused her former friend, traditional healer Gogo Skhotheni, of betrayal and using her name for attention.
The shocking claims were made during a recent episode of the De Original Careless podcast, where Queen Lolly discussed the alleged affair between Skhotheni and Mpumelelo Mseleku, the son of polygamist Musa Mseleku from the reality show *Uthando Nes’thembu*.
Queen Lolly explained that her friendship with Gogo Skhotheni was going well until she realized that Skhotheni didn’t consider her a true friend. Skhotheni had invited her to be a guest on her podcast but repeatedly postponed the interview.

The situation became clearer when Queen Lolly received a message from another traditional healer, Gogo Maweni, on Instagram. After visiting Skhotheni’s page, Queen Lolly discovered that her name was being used without her consent, which she found exploitative.
She expressed her frustration, noting that this wasn’t the first time her name had been used for content without her permission. Queen Lolly also shared how deeply hurt she was when Skhotheni interviewed Mseleku, despite knowing the painful history between them.
Gogo Maweni further revealed that Skhotheni was involved with Mseleku and that they were seen together at an event, even in the presence of Skhotheni’s husband, Monde Shange.
When Queen Lolly confronted Skhotheni about the situation, she was met with defensiveness and eventually blocked. The emotional toll of the ordeal led Queen Lolly to take an HIV test live on the podcast, during which she broke down while revealing the results. She also shared how her child has been bullied at school due to rumors about her health.
Queen Lolly criticized Mzansi Magic for airing an episode where she felt defamed, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing drama within the South African entertainment world.
