Former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius is reportedly in a new relationship, months after being released on parole following his conviction for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius was found guilty of shooting Steenkamp through a bathroom door in the early hours of Valentine’s Day, an act that drew global attention and sparked intense controversy.
The 37-year-old is now rumored to be dating Rita Greyling, a 33-year-old business consultant from Mpumalanga. Greyling, a blonde woman who bears a striking resemblance to Steenkamp, has stirred a wave of criticism and disbelief from the Steenkamp family.
Simone Cowburn, Reeva’s older sister, recently expressed her shock and distress upon seeing photos of Pistorius’s new girlfriend. Speaking to Mail Online, Cowburn said, “Looking at this woman’s photographs gives me goosebumps. She resembles Reeva so much—the same build, face, hair, and even eyes. I can’t help but wonder if he deliberately sought out someone who looks like her. It’s deeply disturbing.”
Cowburn went on to question how anyone could enter a relationship with a man who had committed such a violent crime. “How can a woman sleep next to someone who fired four bullets into a woman he claimed to love? How can you trust or feel safe with someone who has that kind of violence in their past?” she added.
According to East Coast Radio, Greyling is described as a dynamic and accomplished professional who comes from a well-established farming family in South Africa. Her father, BP Greyling, is a prominent figure in the agricultural sector. Despite their success, her family has also endured their own share of tragedy.
The relationship has reignited discussions about Pistorius’s past and the implications of his release, with many questioning the ethics and emotional impact of his new chapter.
