Nurses suspended over patient’s death
Four nurses at Grey Hospital in King William’s Town have been suspended because of the death of a patient. It is understood the nurses refused to help the patient suspected to have COVID-19 because they did not have proper protective gear.
One nurse who wished to remain anonymous said the suspended health workers had insufficient personal protective equipment and could not assist the patient.
eNCA understands that there is a general meeting expected to take place later on Wednesday between hospital management and staff members in a bid to find a resolution to the issue. Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
