Miss SA Contestant Bianca Schoombee Underfire For Racism, Here Is What She Said

Miss South Africa contestant Bianca Schoombee is trending and making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

This comes after her tweets from as far back as 2013 in which she makes apparently racist and derogatory body-shaming and slut-shaming remarks about other women surfaced on social media. She also had a go at disabled people.

In some of the tweets, Bianca makes poorly thought and racist jokes about black people and appears to have no qualms about using the racist slur nigga to refer to black people. Unsurprisingly, Miss SA contestant’s tweets have been trending and going viral on social media.

Below are some of the tweets she made which refer to black people.

She also seems to have no qualms about body shaming and slut-shaming or even making jokes in bad taste about people living with disabilities.

Bianca has since responded and apologised to South Africa saying that she is no longer the same person she was then and has matured over the years. She called on South Africans to forgive her saying that she has forgiven herself. In a message posted on her Twitter account, Bianca says,

Good morning SA, in light of recent event regarding my tweets from 6 years ago, when I was 14 years old, I would like to profusely apologize for putting it out into the universe then, however, I would like to make you all aware that I have grown as a person, this is no longer who I am or what I stand for.

Being the person that I am today I have now dealt with my past by praying. I am using social media as a tool to better myself, to engage with friends, fans and followers, and to inspire.

It’s important to forgive yourself. I really hope that SA can forgive me for these immature posts, as I have forgiven myself and moved on. I really do hope that you continue to support me as we all deserve a second chance. I love you, South Africa. God Bless.
