Actress Letoya Makhene’s estranged wife, Lebo Keswa, has responded to Makhene’s allegations, accusing her of not addressing the trauma from being violated by five men, including a relative, on separate occasions.
Keswa stated that Makhene was advised to seek help after the incidents but refused, and is now directing her anger towards Keswa.
Last week, Makhene threw a live snake at Keswa after alleging on our podcast, Sunday World Engage, that Keswa hated her children and had evicted them from their home. Makhene also accused Keswa of alcoholism and physical assault for talking to her son, who lives with her ex-husband, on the phone.
Additionally, Makhene alleged that Keswa scalded her with boiling water and then lied to her family, claiming that Makhene inflicted the burns herself to tarnish her image. She also accused Keswa of stealing money from her bank account.

In response to these claims on the podcast, Keswa said that Makhene needs to address her trauma rather than taking it out on her. Keswa claimed that Makhene was first violated by a relative, who was never arrested. This man, whose name is known to Sunday World, was married to a family member of Makhene at the time.
According to Keswa, the man asked Makhene for a meeting to discuss issues with his wife, who was working in Dubai. After their meeting, he drove her home, and while they were talking in the car, he assaulted her. Keswa said Makhene did not report the incident to her father or anyone else.
Keswa also mentioned that when Makhene attacked her on the podcast, she explained on social media that she is being scapegoated for Makhene’s problems, while the real culprits remain free. Keswa added that Makhene was sexually assaulted by four other men, who were also never held accountable.
Keswa revealed that they had publicly exposed these men on social media last year, but all of them denied the allegations. She claimed to have tried multiple times to get counseling for Makhene, but it was unsuccessful. Keswa emphasized that Makhene needs to heal from the trauma inflicted by these five men and should seek help from a psychologist instead of resorting to traditional methods.
Makhene responded, saying, “I have spoken my truth, and I will not respond to Lebo repeating herself all over the media. She can go around to all the media houses in South Africa; I won’t be joining her. I chose to leave this marriage, and my only focus right now is my music and my family.”
