Key Witness in Murder Case Gunned Down at Lenasia Court

Authorities are searching for two suspects who allegedly shot and killed a 27-year-old man outside the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The victim, who was a witness in a murder trial, was reportedly gunned down in broad daylight, leaving bystanders describing the scene as something out of a movie.

The Lenasia Magistrate’s Court, situated in a bustling area surrounded by shops and a taxi rank, became the site of the chilling attack.

Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the shooting appeared to be a targeted act.

“The deceased was a key witness in an Eldorado Park murder trial scheduled for the same day. Reports indicate he was standing outside the court when two armed men approached and shot him without exchanging any words. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” Masondo stated.

Masondo urged anyone with information that could assist in identifying or capturing the suspects to contact their nearest police station or call Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
