According to a report on Crime Air Network, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officers got information regarding an armed robbery at Kempton Park CBD this afternoon, Saturday, May 6, 2023. Officers investigated this information and hurried to the location.
Upon arrival, the suspects aimed their weapons at the responding police as they prepared to run, sparking a fierce gunfight in which one suspect lost his life and the other was taken to the hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds.
One suspect has been apprehended by police, and he is presently being held in custody on suspicion of armed robbery, possession of an unregistered handgun, and resisting arrest.
