Popular media figure DJ Sbu has apologized and asked for the public’s forgiveness in a touching speech shared on his social media sites.
The apology is made in the middle of ongoing disputes about his affiliation with Chidinma Adetshina and his support for the #MissSA2024 contest.
“Ningangithuka, ningangithethisa, okusalayo ngiyanithanda – ngiwubhuti wenu ngicela ningicolele,” DJ Sbu wrote.
This means, “You can’t look down on me, you can’t insult me, the rest I love you – I’m your brother, please forgive me.”
The declaration recognized the criticism DJ Sbu has received for his steadfast backing of the #MissSA2024 contest, which has been engulfed in controversy due to claims of unfair tactics and a lack of openness.

“I understand the anger and frustration, and I want to apologize for any offense I may have caused,” he stated.
In addition, DJ Sbu talked about the suspicions that surrounded his relationship with pageant competitor Chidinma Adetshina, who has been embroiled in a contentious identification battle.
“I support Chidinma because I think she’s a good person, but I also recognize that people have doubts and questions.
He clarified, “I’m here to support those I believe in, not to pass judgment.
The media tycoon also aimed to refute the belief that he is conceited, a criticism that has dogged him in the past. “Even though I’m fervent and vocal, I’m not haughty.
He vowed, “I’m here to serve the people, and I will do so to the best of my abilities.”
Reactions to DJ Sbu’s open speech have been mixed, with some praising his humility and others remaining dubious.
“Apology not accepted your fist opinion is the honest one. Im not forgiving you i even stopped listening to my fav radio morning show. If it is nice you repeat it. You were not nice so im not repeating.”
