South African rapper Leslie Mampe, widely known as Da L.E.S, is in critical condition following a stroke he suffered on July 26, his 39th birthday. The sudden health scare led to the cancellation of his birthday festivities and his urgent hospitalization.
The Mampe family shared the distressing news through a heartfelt Instagram post, expressing their profound shock and sadness over the incident. Da L.E.S, previously a member of the celebrated Jozi group and the artist behind the hit “All Eyes on Me,” now faces a challenging recovery process.
According to Zimoja, the Mampe family has sought financial help from close friends to cover Da L.E.S’s medical expenses. A source informed TimesLIVE that Da L.E.S has been moved from a private hospital to a public facility.
“He’s facing significant challenges—half of his face is affected, and he can’t speak. He’s been transferred to a public hospital, but the facilities and care there are excellent. It’s expected to be a long road to recovery, similar to what Lira experienced,” the source revealed.
