The COVID-19 death toll in South Africa has passed the 47,000 mark after another 276 people died. 3,159 new infections have been recorded in the last 24-hour reporting period.
The good news is that active cases continue to drop. There are currently 60,899 active cases, down by almost 4,000. KwaZulu-Natal has the most active cases, with 20,712.
