Johannesburg, South Africa – The bail hearing for Sithembile Xulu, an accused nurse, continued on Tuesday in the Lenasia Magistrates Court.
Last week, Xulu and her co-accused, Simon Mogale, appeared together after being linked by police to the murder of 21-year-old domestic worker Busisiwe Nxumalo.
The two are accused of killing Nxumalo and disposing of her body at a dumping site in 2021, allegedly to claim a R6 million insurance payout.
During her court appearance last week, Xulu denied knowing Mogale, dismissed accusations of involvement in Nxumalo’s murder, and pleaded not guilty.

However, the prosecution presented cell phone evidence indicating that Xulu had called Mogale on the day of Nxumalo’s death.
Additionally, it was disclosed that Mogale lives in an informal settlement dwelling owned by Xulu, despite her claims of not knowing him.
The bail decision was expected to be announced on Tuesday.
