A fixture on the reality TV show since its inception, Annie Mthembu, the wife of business magnate Kgolo ‘Daguru’ Mthembu, has earned acclaim for her candid and straightforward personality, making her a viewer favorite.
Reflecting on her transformative journey, Mthembu acknowledged the significant impact of the reality TV show on her personal growth, stating, “It took me from being this shy, introverted girl into being a woman who knows herself and what she stands for.”
Explaining her decision to skip the upcoming season, Mthembu cited the need for a mental break and dedicated time to focus on her growing businesses. The challenges faced during the previous season, including strained friendships and fabricated stories about her marriage, finances, and livelihood, took a toll on Mthembu.
She expressed, “Unfortunately, I had to sit this season out because I needed a mental health break, some time for reflection, and also to focus on my businesses, which have been steadily growing in the background. This time around, they needed me to be more present to assist with their growth.”
The highly-anticipated Season 4 of ‘The Real Housewives of Durban’ is set to premiere on February 9.
