Actress Phindile Gwala boosts women’s businesses.
In March she started the Virtual Accelerator Programme competition to help new business owners and has now selected the winners. Businesswoman and actress Phindile Gwala is looking out for women in business.
The winners are Nontokozo Mbatha, Nomandla Mtshali and Tania Behari. Phindile’s aim with the competition was to help South African-based women entrepreneurs quickly set up and run their businesses online.
Announcing the winners, the former Imbewu actress released a statement. “The programme’s mission was to provide a centralised network and community for career-oriented women to access resources tailored to their career goals. Candidates underwent an intensive business education programme, following which an independent panel of judges selected the final winners based on their strategy and market potential,” it read.
The winners will be assisted with ways to make their businesses strive. “The ladies will be exposed to networking opportunities, mentoring and training programmes to help their businesses grow. They will receive help with setting up their website and maintenance, get online marketing assistance, specialised coaches and experts to share their knowledge and experience with the winner, among other things,” Phindile said.
She said the vision of the programme was to create a community of like-minded and successful women who help each other succeed in the workplace.
