South African rapper Shebeshxt, known for his hit song Ambulance, has been at the center of controversy since rising to fame, with his latest actions sparking concern among fans and netizens alike.
The Limpopo rapper, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, allegedly pulled out a gun in public, prompting fears for the safety of those around him. This incident follows a previous legal matter from 2023 when Shebeshxt faced charges related to firearms. The charges were later dropped, but the rapper’s behavior continues to attract attention.
According to The South African, Shebeshxt was involved in an incident on April 10, 2023, when he allegedly discharged a firearm at a family home in Ga-Mamaola village, Limpopo. The rapper was charged with two counts of discharging a firearm, but the Lebowakgomo regional court later dropped the gun-pointing charges against him. In response to the charges being withdrawn, Shebeshxt commented, “I was in court. The charges relating to me pointing people with guns have been dropped. I am not sure how that happened, but they have been dropped.”
This incident followed a deeply personal loss for the rapper. In 2023, Shebeshxt tragically lost his daughter in a fatal car accident, an event that reportedly shook him deeply.
Despite his personal struggles, Shebeshxt’s music career has continued to rise. After entering the music scene in 2021, the rapper quickly gained attention for his unique style and sound. He has made significant waves in a short time, with fans eager to see what he does next. However, his public actions have raised concerns about his behavior, with some fans questioning whether he is becoming a dangerous figure due to his unpredictable conduct.
In November 2023, Shebeshxt appeared on Podcast and Chill with MacG and opened up about the origin of his stage name. The rapper revealed that he was born in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo, and briefly lived in Tembisa with his father before relocating to Polokwane in 2020, where he currently resides.
