The family of Lizwi Wokuqala, an emerging musician who sadly passed away in a car accident alongside Lesotho artist Malome Vector, is struggling with the costs of burial arrangements. They are seeking public assistance to help transport his body from the accident scene to his hometown of Inanda, near Durban.
Lizwi Wokuqala, whose real name was Lizwilenkosi Mtshali, died in a collision on the N8 in Bloemfontein on Wednesday, July 24. He was set to release his EP, *Gamelihle*, on Friday, August 9.
The family aims to hold the funeral in Durban on Sunday, August 4, but they are currently lacking the necessary funds. Stanley Khoza, the family spokesperson, highlighted the financial difficulties during a recent discussion about the arrangements.

Khoza explained that despite being a rising star, Lizwi Wokuqala had not yet earned enough to cover funeral costs. “Any assistance or contribution would be greatly appreciated,” he said. “We have set up a bank account in our mother’s name to receive donations, and we hope to cover the funeral costs, which are estimated around R100,000.”
Khoza also mentioned that Lizwi Wokuqala had been living with Malome Vector in Johannesburg and was closely linked to him professionally.
Donations can be made to the account at Standard Bank, under the name Bawelile Sishi (the deceased’s mother), with the account number 20 584 287 9.
